Brenda Rodriguez: Idaho’s “Primera Dama de las Noticias Locales” Shares Joyful Announcement

              If you joined Gem State Promotions, LLC during its inaugural Back to School Bash 2025, you may have caught a glimpse of, or even had the chance to meet, Brenda Rodriguez — known to many as la Primera Dama de los noticieros locales and anchor for KTVB and KTVB En Español.
              Originally from Rupert, Idaho, Brenda is an award-winning journalist who earned degrees in Broadcasting & Digital Media and Spanish at the University of Idaho. During her time at U of I, she served as a Digital Media Intern for National Public Radio’s Latino USA in New York City. From her early reporting days with Inland Northwest Broadcasting in Northern Idaho, Brenda’s passion for storytelling and commitment to community engagement quickly set her apart from her peers.
             With an innovative approach to bridging communities, Brenda launched a Spanish-language newscast at Redwood News in Eureka, California — a project that laid the foundation for her career. That experience ultimately led her back to Idaho, where she helped launch KTVB En Español, further cementing her role as a leading voice in connecting and informing the Latino community.
             Often celebrated as la Primera Dama de las noticias locales en Idaho, Brenda has become a cornerstone of the KTVB network, standing alongside other station legends while carving out her own path as an advocate, innovator, and trusted voice.
             Off-camera, Brenda is just as devoted to her family. Married to Henry Cornelius since 2022, the couple recently celebrated their third anniversary — with an extra special milestone. Over the weekend, Brenda announced on social media that they are expecting their first child. Alongside the heartfelt caption “We can’t wait to meet the piece of us we didn’t know was missing. Baby arriving soon,” the couple shared a creative photo of Brenda holding a newspaper mock-up titled “The Baby Post” with the headline: “Baby Cornelius Coming Soon.”
